​What is vehicle NOC ?

Vehicle NOC is being issued by the parent RTO in Mumbai where vehicle is registered. NOC is required when you shift your vehicle from one Mumbai to another state. It is a legal document from the parent RTO in Mumbai that would be required for re-registration of vehicle in the new state. You won’t require this if you are planning to stay at your transferred location for shorter duration.

What is the validity of the NOC for car in Mumbai? My car is registered at Mumbai RTO .

Ans : There is no Validity period defined for NOC for car in Mumbai . It does not expire . However , NOC once issued should be submitted to the next RTO within 30 days. Beyond 30 days there is late fine .

How can I take NOC for bike from RTO Mumbai ?

How much time normally it takes to get NOC from Mumbai RTO ?

Ans : Normally it takes 30 days time to get NOC from Mumbai RTO.

I car was registered in Andheri RTO. I took NOC for my car 2 years back for Bangalore . Now I want to cancel that NOC. What will be the procedure ?

Ans : NOC cancellation is 2 stage process :

Do I need an "No Objection" Certificate at the RTO for a vehicle that is financed?

Ans : For a car that is financed with an instalment that is ongoing, the RTO will require the financier bank's NOC as well as other documents.

In order to obtain a NoC for your banking institution, you need follow the steps laid out in their guidelines. Usually, this procedure requires an application in writing, along with documents to be used to support the move like the letter of offer or employment transfer letter and proof of address change or other documents.

Once you have received an NOC by your financial institution you are able to present it along with other documents to the RTO to start the NOC approval procedure.

How to get NOC for two-wheeler offline ?

Ans : Following are the steps to get two wheeler NOC  from Mumbai RTO:

• To begin the NOC process, you (the vehicle owner) need to visit the local RTO personally.

• You need to ask for form 28, which you should duly fill. You would be asked to provide basic details such as your name, address, contact number, vehicle registration number, driving license number and so on.
  

• The completed form should be submitted along with the documents mentioned in the form.
  

• You also have to pay a small fee along with the application form.
  

• After you submit the application, the RTO gets in touch with the local police to verify whether or not your vehicle has been involved in any traffic law violations or criminal case in the past.

Is crime report mandatory for getting NOC of the vehicle? Will I have to arrange it myself or Itzeazy will arrange it me ?

Can we ride a bike in another state?

Ans : You can ride bike in another state for 1 year period as per motor vehicle act. After this period its compulsory to re-register the bike. 

What to do if the NOC of a bike expired?

Ans : NOC of a bike never expires. However you need to register your bike in the next RTO within 1 month from the date of issue of NOC. After 1 month there is late fine of Rs. 300 per month. So, its advisable to re-register bike as soon as possible.   

Why is NOC required for a bike?

Ans : If you are shifting your bike from one state to another, bike NOC from parent RTO is required. NOC for bike is no objection certificate from the RTO. It signifies that there is no outstanding tax dues, pending challans or crime incident is there.   

How much time will it take for NOC?

Ans : The complete process for vehicle NOC takes approx. 1 month time. However this time may vary from RTO to RTO. To know the exact procedure time in the particular RTO, consult the concerned RTO.

Do we need to submit an original RC for NOC in Mumbai ?

Ans : In Mumbai , Original RC is mandatory for NOC application. You get original RC back along with NOC. In case you dont have original RC or have lost RC, then you need to apply for  duplicate RC first . Once you have RC you can apply for vehicle NOC.

​How much road tax refund will I get from the parent RTO, in the case where I am moving my vehicle out of the state ?

Ans : You will get road tax refund for the remaining period from the date of issue of NOC, on pro-rata basis. 

Vehicle road tax for private vehicle is paid for 15 years. Suppose you are moving your vehicle from Mumbai to Bangalore after 5 years from the date of registration. You are entitled to get refund of road tax for 10 years of unused period on pro-rate basis.  

I have taken NOC for my car 3 years back, but I didn't register it in the new RTO. Now I want to register. How much will be the late fine ?

Ans : To re-register car now, you will have to pay 2 types of late fine :

• Rs. 500 late fine per month
• Interest on the road tax payable amount . Normally its 1% per month on the road tax amount.

I have purchased a bike which is registered in other state. Who will apply for bike NOC in the RTO ?

Ans : Since bike is still in the name of previous owner, so seller should apply for bike NOC in the RTO.​
